Natalie Williams is a MOBO nominated singer-songwriter whose versatility and ability to fuse styles has been noted and praised by critics. A natural live performer with a talent for engaging an audience, her relaxed style and boundless energy distinguish her from many live performers.
Natalie’s 10-piece, all-star band Soul Family boasts some of the best R&B, soul and jazz musicians in the UK. Combining pop with gospel, funk, soul, and R&B, the band covers classics from Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder through to Ella Fitzgerald to Beyoncé. The group’s long-running Ronnie Scott’s residency is famous on the international jazz and soul scene with guests including Jamie Cullum, Alice Russell, Terri Walker, Roachford, and Emeli Sande.
Natalie has perform at venues and festivals as diverse as the Montreux Festival, Glastonbury, the Jakarta and Shanghai Jazz Festivals, and the BBC Urban Music Prom at the Royal Albert Hall. The Telegraph has described her as “One of the UK’s hottest singers…she effortlessly moves from soul-diva to sensual and sophisticated jazz” whilst fellow performer Jamie Cullum has said “She’s Joss Stone and Erykah Badu times 20...she’s a truly real, beautiful star, worthy of everyone’s attention.”
The Family features a stellar line-up that includes Vula (Basement Jaxx), Sharlene Hector (Basement Jaxx), Nate James, Tawiah, Oggie, Ladonna Harley-Peters, Brendan Reilly, Andrea Grant, Susan Harriot, Simon King, Robin Mullarkey (Zero 7), Phil Peskett (Moloko), Martyn Kaine (Kyle Eastwood), Ben Jones, Atlantic Horns: Mark Brown, Ben Edwards (Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson).
As well as the Soul Family, Natalie also performs with her own five-piece band for smaller and more intimate events, and also with solo piano or in trio and quartet line-ups.
