Micky’s tales of the journey from East End ‘erbert to reluctant middle class sophisticate have transformed him from painter and decorator to jobbing comic to headline star. He now sells out arenas and can boast television credits stretching from I Love My Country to The Royal Variety Performance

Biography

With bundles of self-deprecating charm and perfect timing, Micky wins over any audience with his stream of observations on life’s little absurdities. He’s been described as ‘gut-wrenchingly hilarious’ by The Mirror, and simply ‘the future of comedy’ by Frank Skinner.

Micky claims an East End upbringing so impoverished that Alphabetti Spaghetti was a luxury. He’s since gone from Billingsgate fish porter to appearing in Sainsbury commercials and marrying into the middle classes. Micky affectionately mocks the more rarified world he now inhabits and the characters he’s (almost) left behind.

Arguably one of the break-through acts of recent times, Micky has appeared on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week and even Celebrity Mastermind. In addition he’s appeared on the Royal Variety Show and has become something of a regular on Radio 4, including with his own show charting his rise through the social strata.

Micky’s appeal lies in homing in on the common threads we all share, from everyday hopes and dreams to the creeping acceptance of middle age. He examines the absurdities of parenting, the pretentions of the bourgeois, and what happens when you end up going out despite your best intentions.
