Samantha has been a news broadcaster for over two decades. She was an anchor on Sky News, and now presents on the BBC News Channel. She was one of the first journalists from the UK to cover the post 9/11 events on the ground in New York and was on the scene of the Edgware Road bombing on 7/7 within minutes.


Biography

Samantha Simmonds has been a journalist and broadcaster for more than twenty years. She is a presenter on BBC World News where she covers international events of the day.

Samantha presented on Sky News for more than a decade anchoring coverage of some of the biggest stories of recent years.  These included the murder of British MP Jo Cox, the EU referendum live from Gibraltar, several general elections and the terror attacks in Tunisia and Brussels. She also broke the news of the sudden deaths of Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, and Heath Ledger.

Samantha’s highlights while at Sky including presenting on location at Buckingham Palace for the Queens’s ninetieth Birthday and at the Olympic Park for the London 2012 opening ceremony.

She loves the challenge of handling live breaking news and dealing with the biggest events of the day – interviewing senior politicians, business leaders, celebrities, and ordinary people often at the centre of shocking events.

Samantha has a reputation for bringing personality, energy, warmth, and humour to corporate and motivational events she hosts or speaks at. Her conference hosting includes comparing the Qatar-UK business investment forum alongside the British and Qatari Prime Ministers, and the regional investment fund forum for the Department of International Trade.

Guenther Steiner is the Former Team Principal of F1’s Haas, a role he held from the team’s inception until this year. Under his leadership, he grew Haas into one of the sport’s leading independent teams.

Joining Guenther on stage will be broadcaster and behavioural scientist Paul Mckenna, who has written a number of bestselling books, and works on how psychology and mindset can impact achievement.

On Tuesday 17th September we had the pleasure of hearing from a remarkable panel of speakers, who shared their expertise on the challenges of managing Risk in a chaotic world.

The panel featured esteemed speakers, Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton KFSM (Firefigter and Neuroscience researcher), Lord Parker of Minsmere (Andrew Parker, Former Director General of MI5), and Sir Robin Niblett (Former Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House). The event was hosted superbly by Mastermind and BBC News presenter Clive Myrie.

Over the hour, our panellists explored Risk on multiple levels, from global affairs to business environments and personal everyday challenges. They provided valuable insights into how we can better manage and mitigate Risk in today’s unpredictable world.
