Kevin McCloud both writes and presents Grand Designs, Channel 4’s celebration of innovative design in housebuilding. His other TV credits include Don't Look Down, where he conquered his vertigo by abseiling down six of the UKs tallest structures.
Off camera, Kevin founded a design practice specialising in lighting and furniture. He has worked on some of the finest buildings in Europe, including Ely Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle, the Dorchester hotel and two European palaces. His talent also shines on the carved and painted rococo ceiling in Harrod’s Food Halls.
Kevin has written several books on decorating and lighting, and designed everything from tableware and ceramics to garden furniture; but he also devotes energy to the bigger issue of sustainable development, and the regeneration of entire communities.
