Scissor Sisters co-vocalist Ana found international success with the band who became stars with their infectious pop hits such as I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ and Filthy/Gorgeous. Away from the group she’s an engaging host and as a DJ she’s certain to get even the most reluctant on to the dance floor.

Biography

Ana Matronic is a singer, artist, musician and broadcaster best known in her role co-fronting the international glam-pop-dance group Scissor Sisters.

Performing in clubs in San Francisco and New York, Ana met and then joined Scissor Sisters after the group played their first gig at one of the venues she was working. With their unique mix of catchy pop tunes, disco beats and flamboyant stage presence the group quickly found success, particularly in what would become their spiritual home, the UK. Huge hits including Comfortably Numb, Filthy/Gorgeous, and I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ meant they went on to sell millions of albums and singles around the world and establish themselves as a must-see live act.

As well as Scissor Sisters Ana has also worked with artists including Mark Ronson, New Order, and Duran Duran. Away from performance she has mentored budding artists on The Voice, commentated on the BBC coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest, and hosted her own regular disco-orientated show on Radio 2.

Ana is an enthusiastic, likeable host, and as a DJ plays irresistible, energetic floor-fillers from the disco era of the 70s to contemporary pop and dance.
