Alice Levine is an award-winning presenter and one of the most sought-after voices in broadcasting. With a wealth of experience across live television and radio, she has successfully turned her hand to comedy, entertainment, and documentaries, and is the go-presenter for smart, funny, and sophisticated programming.
On radio, Alice is best known for her shows on BBC Radio 1. She joined the station in the coveted late-night John Peel slot, moved to weekend breakfast, and finally the Friday – Sunday afternoon show, for which she won the Music Week Best Radio Show Award. Alice has hosted shows for BBC Radio 4, including The Museum of Curiosity, and Pick of The Week.
Her ability to balance a journalistic tone with warmth and wit has made her the first choice for the official hosting duties of events like The Mercury Music Prize, The BRITs, and the BAFTA Awards, as well as Music Week’s Women in Music Awards for its sixth consecutive year.
Alice’s intelligence and humour has made her highly in demand on renowned comedy shows including Qi, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You, Taskmaster, Room 101, and Travel Man.
Alice presented Sleeping with the Far Right, a documentary which saw her living with a former UKIP and BNP member. In Kevin McCloud’s Rough Guide to the Future, Alice travelled to Japan to explore their tech solutions for overcoming the planet’s biggest issues. Having seen her skills in action, Louis Theroux took Alice under his wing as his first protégé, exec-producing her three documentary films, in a series called Sex Actually with Alice Levine, which saw her travel the UK, and explore what sex means for modern Brits.
Her podcast My Dad Wrote a Porno, is Britain’s biggest comedy podcast. It has been described as ‘a cultural phenomenon’ (The Sunday Times), and has amassed over three hundred million downloads, created two sell-out world tours (including Sydney Opera House and Royal Albert Hall), and an HBO comedy special. Fans of the podcast include fans in Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dame Emma Thompson, Dan Levy, Nicholas Hoult, and Michael Sheen. It has had rave reviews from Variety, The Guardian, and Time Magazine.
Her influence in the world of podcasting doesn’t end there, American podcast mega-producers, Wondery, asked her to front their title, British Scandal, which went straight in at number one in the UK charts. Another hit is Audible’s Very Modern Quests, an improvisation format where you can hear Alice holding her own with some of the UK’s comedy talents.
