Actor, writer, and more recently singer, Xander is also one of the country’s most popular hosts; fronting Pointless and hosting his morning show on Classic FM. He’s also one half of Armstrong & Miller, has explored Italy for BBC One, portrayed David Cameron, and recorded Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

 


Biography

Alexander Armstong is an actor, writer, singer, and one of the most accomplished, recognisable hosts in the country. He is one half of Armstrong & Miller, writing and starring in the comedy sketch show with fellow actor and university friend, Ben Miller. He is also the co-host of the popular quiz Pointless, has presented Have I Got News For You more times than any other guest host, and is a presenter on Classic FM. 

Other TV credits include the dramas Life Begins and Mutual Friends and an appearance in Dr Who. He’s played the animal-hating vet in Beast, and David Cameron in The Trial of Tony Blair. He has also appeared in Saxondale with Steve Coogan, and provided the voice for Dangermouse in the return of the children’s favourite.

Alexander has chaired Channel 4’s The Best of the Worst, and Don’t Call Me Stupid. He’s explored the history of Naples, Florence and Venice in Italy’s Invisible Cities, and frequently pops up on Radio 4. He has also turned his hand to singing, producing two albums of popular classics and taking them on tour with a live orchestra, as well as a recording of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

Date TBC.  We will be looking at high-performance and mindset with our two excellent speakers.

Guenther Steiner is the Former Team Principal of F1’s Haas, a role he held from the team’s inception until this year. Under his leadership, he grew Haas into one of the sport’s leading independent teams.

Joining Guenther on stage will be broadcaster and behavioural scientist Paul Mckenna, who has written a number of bestselling books, and works on how psychology and mindset can impact achievement.

On Tuesday 17th September we had the pleasure of hearing from a remarkable panel of speakers, who shared their expertise on the challenges of managing Risk in a chaotic world.

The panel featured esteemed speakers, Dr. Sabrina Cohen-Hatton KFSM (Firefigter and Neuroscience researcher), Lord Parker of Minsmere (Andrew Parker, Former Director General of MI5), and Sir Robin Niblett (Former Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House). The event was hosted superbly by Mastermind and BBC News presenter Clive Myrie.

Over the hour, our panellists explored Risk on multiple levels, from global affairs to business environments and personal everyday challenges. They provided valuable insights into how we can better manage and mitigate Risk in today’s unpredictable world.
