Alex is a presenter who specialises in film, music, and popular culture. He is the face of Sky Cinema, hosting various Celebrity Specials for the channel where he has interviewed A-List stars such as Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lawrence, and Matt Damon.


Biography

Alex Zane began his career in stand-up comedy as a finalist in the Channel 4 competition ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ His career then moved into television. Starting at MTV he hosted the live show TRL:UK before moving to Channel 4 to become part of the prank show Balls of Steel. Alex then hosted T4’s Popworld, and late-night comedy show Rude Tube for ten series. He also hosted the BBC show Celebrity Scissorhands for Children in Need before joining SKY TV.

As an award-winning film journalist, Alex hosts Sky’s live Oscar Night Party, in conjunction with the Academy Awards, as well as interviewing A-List actors and filmmakers for his talk show, Reel Life… Guests have included Stephen Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. His work in the world of film has made Alex the go-to-guy to host the London Premieres for the world’s biggest blockbusters.

He’s also an accomplished radio broadcaster, and hosted London’s Xfm Breakfast Show for three years. On his podcast A Trip to the Movies, Alex invites his guest to curate their perfect night out at the movies.
