Biography

Rob Broderick aka Abandoman is an Irish improv hip hop musical comedian. His incredible comic performances have been described as ‘Flight of the Conchords meets 8 Mile - nothing short of genius.’

Using his trademark blend of audience interaction and razor-sharp improvisation, Abandoman take you on a magical journey, transforming the audience’s likes, loathes and daydreams into hit songs and captivating tales.

The winning formula sees him reinventing hip hop to comedic effect by asking people for words and suggestions and creating uniquely hilarious raps. Come to the show, suggest a topic and watch as Abandoman makes musical magic. No two shows are ever the same.

Abandoman has supported Ed Sheeran on tour, held a song writing residency with Chris Hawkins on BBC Radio 6 Music, and has become a huge hit on the comedy club and festival scene. He has appeared at Bestival, Latitude and Glastonbury festivals.

He's won the prestigious Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition, and been named best comedy newcomer at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. He's also performed in the house band for Alan Carr's Happy Hour on Channel 4 alongside Craig David and played the part of Dictionary Corner in 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
