Edith presented for MTV and across the BBC music network before a stint on Virgin Radio. She now hosts the Soundtracking podcast.
Broadcaster and presenter Edith Bowman co-presented Radio 1's weekday afternoon show with Colin Murray before taking on the slot solo and hosting the weekend breakfast show. One of the few presenters to have hosted regularly on Radios 1, 2, 5 and 6Music, she also hosted Virgin Radio's breakfast show, as well as live festival coverage on BBC television.
After a stint co-presenting MTV's Hitlist UK with Cat Deeley, as well as Capital FM's Cat and Edith's Hit Music Sunday, Edith joined Radio 1. A dream job for a massive music fan and fanatical gig-goer, she moved from weekends to weekdays where along with Colin she fronted one of the station’s biggest shows, introducing new bands to listeners and interviewing the likes of Foo Fighters, Peter Kay, Paul McCartney, George Lucas, and Kermit the Frog. She also moved from DJ to singer with winning performances of Oasis and Blondie songs on Comic Relief does Fame Academy.
Edith has fronted coverage of huge live music events and festivals including the Notting Hill Carnival, Party in The Park, and of course, Glastonbury. A lifelong film fan she's reported from the Bafta red carpet, and hosted the Scottish branch of the awards. She's served as a regular stand-in host for 5Live's Kermode and Mayo's Film Review and hosts her own podcast, Soundtracking, an exploration of film music with key figures from the film industry.
