Marianna Spring is the BBC’s first Disinformation and Social Media correspondent. She presents podcasts and documentaries investigating disinformation and social media for Radio 4, Panorama and BBC Three. Marianna is also one of the presenters of the BBC Americast podcast alongside Sarah Smith and Justin Webb.
Marianna's documentary features have included Marianna in Conspiracyland exploring the conspiracy theory landscape in Britain, and he series Why Do You Hate Me, looking at cases of social media hate and harm. Marianna was named the British Press Guild's Audio Presenter of the year and Royal Television Society Innovation winner. In her book Among the Trolls, Marianna meets the most committed conspiracy theorists, and their victims, and reveals the consequences of disinformation, hate and online polarisation, and the risks that come with investigating it.
