Dr Linda Papadopoulos is one of the most recognisable and well-respected psychologists working in the UK today. With a background in academia, as well as becoming a familiar voice in the media, she synthesises her psychological expertise with current affairs, technological trends and human behaviour. She has provided commentary for The Times, The Guardian, Sky News and The One Show, among others, providing insights on everything from navigating risk, to how our brains relate to technology.
As well as sharing her insights on how human behaviour can drive everything from online extremism to understanding how we, as humans, interact with AI, her work has informed government policy. Notably, she helmed an independent review for the Home Office on the effects of sexualisation on young people, which led to her presenting this research at the European Parliament.
As well as advising governments, she has sat on advisory boards for tech organisations (including Google), drawing on her work on the impact of social media on mental and cognitive health. She also collaborated with cybersecurity company ESET on their Think Twice campaign.
As a Chartered Counselling and Heath Psychologist, as well as a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, she has maintained a clinical practice alongside her academic one. She has worked both privately as well as within the NHS, gaining extensive experience in the counselling of individuals, couples and families. As well as writing several academic texts, including being published in peer-reviewed journals, she is the author of several books, including Unfollow: Living Life on Your Own Terms.
In speeches, Linda takes complex, theoretical concepts from psychology and distils them in a way that audiences are able to understand them and benefit from them practically. Covering everything from communication and branding to body image to general mental health and wellbeing - as well as generational change, the impact on technology has on our brains, and how to deal with risk, anxiety and stress.
