Now that Autumn is here at last, bringing with it a busy period as events begin to return, it seems appropriate to reflect on the summer. While the summer months provide some respite from the rest of the year’s packed events calendar, the quieter period also gives us the exciting opportunity to meet new conference speakers – here are just a few that we’ve added to our website in recent months.

New Conference Speakers Added this Summer

Andrew Parker, Rt Hon Lord Parker of Minsmere GCVO, KCB

Former Lord Chamberlain and Former Director General, MI5

Few people have held a single role as sensitive and senior as the two Lord Parker has. After a 30-year career in the security services, which culminated in him holding the position of Director General at MI5, he went on to become Lord Chamberlain – the non-executive Chair and de facto head of the Royal Household. Unsurprisingly, he has a unique insight into how to face leadership challenges, and how to build open, diverse teams, unified by sharing the same goals.

Sharmadean Ried

Sharmadean Reid MBE

CEO, The Stack World

Reflecting on her early experiences as an entrepreneur in the beauty industry, Sharmadean Reid realised there was an absence of a platform that empowered women in business through networking and coaching. This led to her founding The Stack World, a platform built on enabling women to achieve their next milestone – reflections she also shares in her book, New Methods for Women: A Manifesto for Independence.

Grant Shapps

Former Secretary of State for Defence

With a Ministerial career that covered key portfolios such as defence and energy during pivotal moments like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Grant offers insights on how geopolitical events will affect businesses, as well as how net-zero targets present opportunities for innovation.
