Entrepreneurs are the energetic sparks behind the world’s most amazing innovations and businesses. They’re the ones who spot opportunities, take bold risks, and passionately chase their dreams to create new products, services, or solutions.

It’s no surprise that here at JLA we’re seeing an uptick in enquiries on speakers who are entrepreneurs. Audiences are captivated by the story of entrepreneurs as it showcases their determination.

What makes entrepreneurial stories so compelling is the journey itself, often fraught with uncertainty, setbacks, and moments of doubt. Yet, it is these obstacles that highlight the extraordinary qualities of entrepreneurs. Their ability to adapt, pivot, and innovate under pressure can be a source of inspiration for any audience.

When entrepreneur speakers share their experiences, they offer invaluable insights into the process of turning an idea into reality. They discuss the strategic thinking required to identify market gaps, the perseverance needed to secure funding and resources, and the leadership skills essential for building and motivating a team. Their stories often include lessons learned from failures and the critical importance of resilience and perseverance.

Here are just a few of my favourite entrepreneurs who we work with here at JLA:

Natalie Campbell

Social Entrepreneur

Natalie is a social entrepreneur, who places purpose, sustainability and inclusion at the heart of her work. Natalie co-founded A Very Good Company (AVGC), which is a global social innovation agency and has worked with brands such as Virgin Media, Marks and Spencers and The Guardian, she has helped them “do good, feel good and live better”. Natalie is a strong leader who delivers fascinating and thought-provoking talks.

Tim Campbell

Social Enterprise Entrepreneur, The Apprentice winner

There’s no relation between Tim and Natalie, however, they both share the attributes of being brilliant speakers and being firm favourites of ours here at JLA. You may recognise Tim from winning the first ever The Apprentice back in 2005 and joining the show in 2022 as one of Lord Sugar’s aides. Away from The Apprentice, Tim founded his own social enterprise, Bright Ideas Trust, which supports young people to set up their own businesses. The success in this resulted in Tim being awarded an MBE in 2012 for services to Enterprise Culture. In his talks, Tim focuses on his journey and the ups and downs he experienced along the way.

Steven Bartlett

Entrepreneur, The Diary of a CEO

A man who needs no introduction! Consistently topping the podcast charts, The Diary Of A CEO has taken the podcast world by storm. In episodes, Steven picks the brains of some of the world’s most influential people, discussing their journey and lessons learnt along the way. Before his podcast, Steven founded The Social Chain, a social media agency, which ultimately merged with a publicly listed company to become Social Chain AG, reaching a valuation of $600 million.

Dave Fishwick

Founder, ‘The Bank of Dave’

We work with many entrepreneurs here at JLA but I can safely say that Dave is the only one who can stake the claim to have founded his own bank! On paper, this may not seem like an original idea but Burnley Savings and Loans which has been operating since 2011 isn’t an ordinary bank. Burnley Savings and Loans treats it’s customers on a case by case bases and all profits are invested back into the local community. With his strong sense of humour, in speeches, Dave talks about the determination required to own a business and the challenges he faced along the way. Dave’s unique story was turned into the hit Netflix film “Bank of Dave”.
