2020, what a year. I don’t need to explain what happened as you were there too. At least we’re out of the days of endless Zoom quizzes and starting emails with ‘I hope you are doing ok in these crazy times’.

As the new year approaches, we are all starting to wonder what 2021 will have in store for us. What will our lives look like this time next year? What will our jobs look like? What lasting effects will the pandemic leave in its wake? And will I ever make it back to the JLA office and my beloved standing desk?

Many of the keynote speakers we work with have been researching questions just like these since March, and considering what the future of the workplace will look like. I have compiled a list of some of my favourite future of the workplace keynote speakers below. From what the new workplace challenges will be, to whether we really need an office going forward, these experts have the answers to help us navigate the coming year and beyond.

Thimon De Jong

A compelling keynote speaker, Thimon is an expert in societal trends and human behaviour, and runs his own think-tank & consultancy. In keynote speeches, Thimon explains that when we think about a post-Covid world, we tend to project our own desires onto the future, but history has shown that the reality of these huge societal shifts is slim. He also speaks about the future of the workplace and whether working from home will stick. Thimon also predicts big business opportunities are around the corner with companies taking more risks and more spending post-Covid, and so we should all start strategizing now!

Christine Armstrong

Author of The Mother of All Jobs: How to Have Children and a Career and Stay Sane(ish), Christine is an expert on the future of the workplace and work-life balance. Christine looks at workplace culture, communication and diversity & inclusion drawing on her own experiences and research. Christine wrote a feature for JLA about hybrid work and the new office life – do take a look!

Leo Johnson

Leo co-presents Radio 4’s FutureProofing series and explores the innovations and challenges that are changing business and society. As a keynote speaker, Leo considers what the emerging ‘no regret’ moves for business in this Covid-landscape will be, and the opportunities and runaway solutions that will open up new areas for growth.

Paul Redmond

An expert in generations and the future of the workplace, Paul considers different generation’s priorities and ambitions when it comes to work. Dispelling myths and uncovering the realities, Paul explores how is best to understand and lead a multi-generational team through this time.

Leonard Brody

Leonard has had a varied career – from leading one of the biggest tech IPOs of its time, to working in partnership with Forbes on their online content project The Great Rewrite, to co-owner of Coventry City FC. As an entrepreneur, investor and business author, Leonard considers the future of the workplace & business, and predicts that going forward the office is where we will meet and home will be where we work.
